Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Pathlight handles information needed to save your path, support sign-in, send Moments, respond to support requests, and keep your experience continuous.

Who we are
Pathlight is operated by Shahin Shahmir. This policy applies to the Pathlight iOS app, bundle ID com.shahin.pathlight, and the website at www.pathlight.uk.
You can contact us at support@pathlight.uk.
What Pathlight collects
Pathlight is designed around a small daily Moment and a continuing personal path. Depending on how you use the app, Pathlight may collect or store:
- Account information. If you use Continue with Apple or Continue with Google, Pathlight may receive account identifiers and sign-in information from that provider, such as your email address or name depending on your provider settings.
- Guest identifiers. If you continue as Guest, Pathlight creates a local guest identifier so your path can continue on the device.
- Path continuity data. This includes journey identifiers, daily path segments, current path position, path visual state, branch history, and related timestamps.
- Moment activity. This includes the Moment shown, whether you answered Yes or Not today, response time, Moment status, and progress events used to keep the path continuous.
- Notification information. This includes notification permission status, Expo push token information where notifications are enabled, notification IDs, notification scheduling status, opened/responded status, and notification payload data needed to open the right Moment.
- Preferences. This includes settings such as music, sound effects, reduce motion, notification preferences, and daily Moment limits.
- Support information. If you email support, we receive the information you choose to include in that message.
- Basic website delivery information. The website is hosted on Vercel and is currently built without analytics, advertising trackers, or non-essential cookies. Vercel may process standard server request information needed to deliver the pages, such as IP address and browser request metadata.
What Pathlight does not collect
Pathlight does not collect:
- precise location
- contacts
- calendar data
- microphone recordings
- camera images or videos
- health records
- payment data
- advertising identifiers
How Pathlight uses data
Pathlight uses information for limited app purposes:
- to save and restore your path
- to keep your experience continuous across days
- to support account sign-in and signed-in sync
- to support Guest mode on your device
- to send, schedule, open, cancel, and manage Moment notifications
- to record Yes and Not today responses so the path can continue
- to maintain security, reliability, and basic service operation
- to answer support requests
Service providers
Pathlight may rely on the following providers to operate the app and website:
- Apple. Used for iOS platform services, Apple push notification infrastructure, and Continue with Apple if you choose to sign in with Apple.
- Google. Used if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Supabase. Used for backend services, authentication, database storage, and signed-in sync.
- Expo and notification infrastructure. Used for app build/runtime services and push notification token handling where notifications are enabled.
- Vercel. Used to host and deliver the Pathlight website. Vercel may process basic request information needed to serve the site.
These providers process information according to their own terms and privacy practices, and only as needed for the services Pathlight uses.
Retention and deletion
Signed-in account data is generally kept while your account remains active so Pathlight can preserve your path. Guest data is primarily stored locally on the device unless you later attach or sync it to a signed-in account.
You can delete your signed-in account from inside the app. Account deletion may remove account profile data, path continuity data, Moment responses, progress events, notification tokens, and notification logs.
Some limited records may be retained where required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, backup, or dispute-resolution purposes.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, object to, restrict, or receive a copy of personal data. You may also be able to withdraw consent for certain processing.
You can manage notifications in iOS Settings and in Pathlight settings. You can also contact support@pathlight.uk for data requests.
Children
Pathlight is not directed to children under 13, or the applicable minimum age in your country or region. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact support@pathlight.uk.
International processing
Pathlight and its providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Those countries may have different data protection laws from your country or region.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Pathlight changes. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to make the updated policy available before it applies.
